Mandatory Riding Armor & Apparel
Never compromise on riding safety. You will need: an adventure helmet with clear/tinted visor, CE Level 2 armor in jacket and pants, rigid adventure/enduro boots with ankle protection, and two pairs of gloves (ventilated for valleys, insulated waterproof for 4,000m passes).
The 3-Layer Temperature Strategy
Temperatures can swing from 32°C in the Indus river valley to 2°C at Khunjerab Pass within 4 hours. Pack merino wool base layers, a lightweight fleece mid-layer, and a windproof/waterproof Gore-Tex outer shell.
Power, Cameras & Connectivity
Pack a 20,000 mAh rugged power bank, extra camera batteries (cold altitude drains lithium cells quickly), a local SIM card for coverage in Gilgit-Baltistan, and a universal power adapter.
