POLICIES & RIDER AGREEMENTS

1. Deposit and Balance

A $700 USD deposit per rider is required to secure a scheduled-tour place. A booking is not confirmed until payment is received and verified. The remaining balance is due by the date shown on the selected departure or payment request.

2. Cancellation by the Traveler

• More than 90 days before departure: amounts paid above the $700 deposit are refundable.
• 61–90 days before departure: 50% of amounts paid above the deposit are refundable.
• 60 days or fewer before departure: payments are non-refundable because expedition services and supplier commitments may already be committed or non-recoverable.
• Bank, card, PayPal or payment-provider fees that are not returned to us are deducted from any refund.

3. Transfers

One transfer to another published departure may be requested more than 60 days before departure, subject to availability and any price difference. A transferred booking retains its original non-refundable deposit and cannot later be converted into a cash refund of that deposit.

4. Cancellation by The Scenic Mistake

If we cancel an expedition for reasons within our control before it starts, you may choose either a transfer/credit or a refund of tour payments received by us. We are not responsible for separate international flights, visas, insurance, riding gear or other third-party costs.

5. Force Majeure and Route Disruption

Weather, landslides, road closures, government restrictions, security events, natural disasters and other events outside reasonable control may require postponement, route changes or cancellation. In those cases we will pass on recoverable supplier refunds or credits where available, but cannot guarantee recovery of amounts already committed to third parties.

6. Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel medical and trip-cancellation insurance is mandatory. Travelers should purchase cover soon after booking and ensure motorcycle touring and emergency evacuation at the expedition's maximum altitude are included.
